The weather is finally beginning to change as we enter May, and very soon the hot summer temperatures will be here. If you have surfaces that have been 'energy wasters' in the past, you don't have to keep losing money.

Read below to see how Nansulate® coatings can help you reduce heat transfer in a variety of areas around your facility to help you save energy & money.

may_iem_1.jpgOutdoor Insulation
Effectively insulate fuel storage tanks, hot water tanks, and more.

Insulating outdoor surfaces like tanks, duct work, and pipes can be an ongoing struggle. Many companies that we've visited simply don't insulate them because fiberglass or rock wool can't stand up to the rain and weather.

You can easily insulate outdoor equipment and save energy by using Nansulate® coatings. Simply spray-on the coating in layers on the exterior and this liquid insulation will not only stand up to weathering, but will also prevent corrosion, and insulate consistently over time.

Nansulate® Translucent PT coating for surfaces up to 256F (125C). Typical application is 6-8 coats, depending upon temperature needs.

Covers 450 S.F. (42 m2) per gallon at 1-coat or 56.25 S.F. (5.25 m2) per gallon at 8-coats.

Nansulate® High Heat coating for surfaces up to 400F (204C). Typical application is 10-12 coats, depending upon temperature needs.

Covers 450 S.F. (42 m2) per gallon at 1-coat or 37.5 S.F (3.5 m2). per gallon at 12-coats.

Skylights/Windows
Stop heat loss and gain through windows and skylights & keep the light.

The Tampa Port Authority, City of Miami, and Frost Art Museum are just a few organizations that have benefited from coating their skylights with Nansulate® coating technology.

Windows are frosted for security, while still allowing in the light. Heat and UV penetration are greatly reduced with just a few coats of this award-winning technology.

Nansulate® Energy Protect coating for skylights, windows, walls, and ceilings. Use 3-coats applied at 4 mils per coat.

Covers 450 S.F. (42 m2) per gallon at 1-coat or 150 S.F. (14 m2) per gallon at 3-coats.

may_iem_2.jpgLarge Equipment
Insulate any size or shape equipment with a liquid spray-on insulator.

Two industries where Nansulate® technology has made a huge impact is Textile and Food Manufacturing. Both have large equipment that could not be insulated in the past for various reasons.

Dying machines of all shapes and sizes are used in the textile industry, and before they discovered Nansulate® coatings, there was nothing they could use to insulate this  heat intensive equipment. Our textile clients are saving an average of 20% on energy costs.

Food manufacturers have many sensitive areas where fibrous insulation can't be used due to potential contamination of their product. They now can insulate ovens, bottle washers, and more with our GP coating which is NSF registered for incidental food contact surfaces. Energy waste gone.

Nansulate® EPX 2-part chemical resistant insulation.

Covers 76 S.F. (7.06 m2) per gallon at 1-coat or 38 S.F. (3.53 m2) per gallon at 2-coats.

Is Your House Protected?

book.png

The Healthy Home by Dr. Myron Wentz and Dave Wentz discusses the "Simple Truths to Protect Your Family from Hidden Household Dangers".   The Healthy Home is a book that is "not a comprehensive tome on modern health hazards... [But] focuses on the most important environment--the home--and the problems that can most easily be lessen or eliminated.

Visiting My Healthy Home you can view possible health dangers in specific areas, such as hazards in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area, etc.

One really interesting topic was the "Problem: Indoor Air Pollution":

It used to be that air quality from the outside was thought to be the most hazardous form of pollution to the human body.  Who would have thought the indoor pollution found in your very own home could be even more dangerous?

Indoor pollutants fall into two major categories:

1.    Particulate matter, which includes dust, smoke, pollen, and particles generated from combustion appliances, as well as biological particles associated with tiny organisms such as dust mites, bacteria, and molds.

2.    Gaseous pollutants that also come from combustion processes, but are in gaseous rather than particle form, and also come from the use of products such as adhesives, paints, cleaning products, and pesticides.

...The amount of outdoor air that enters the home plays a major role in the effect these contaminants have on human health. If too little of this air enters the home, these pollutants can pose health risks. Because some weather conditions can reduce the amount of outdoor air that enters a home, pollutants can build up even more.

To read the full excerpt visit: www.myhealthyhome.com/view-dangers-by-category/surroundings/air/

The Healthy Home is an amazing revelation of the 'truths' on everyday products that parents use for their children.  This book will empower parents to take measures to protect their children from toxins that may threaten the health of our future generations", says Christine Wood, M.D., pediatrician and author of How to Get Kids to Eat Great & Love it

Enrich your knowledge of health hazards at home by purchasing The Healthy Home.

Liquid insulation
Adding insulation to your walls and roof is as easy as painting.

A Texas location of a well-known hotel chain found a way to reduce their monthly heating and cooling costs by approximately 30% each month.  They're spraying Nansulate® Crystal on their roof and Nansulate® Energy Protect on their exterior walls.  The coatings are easy to apply and in addition to acting as a thermal barrier, they protect surfaces from moisture, UV, and mold growth.  Their estimated payback will be between 3-5 years.

Nansulate® Crystal is a clear insulating roof coating.  Apply 2-coats at 5 mils each.  Approximately 1-2 hours dry time between each coat.  Covers 450 S.F. per gallon at 1-coat or 225 S.F. per gallon at 2-coats.  Product Page

Nansulate® Energy Protect is a clear insulating coating for walls and more. Apply 3-coats at 4 mils each. Approximately 1-2 hours dry time between each coat.  Covers 450 S.F. per gallon at 1-coat or 150 S.F. per gallon at 3-coats. Product Page

Lead Abatement
Make surfaces safe by using an advanced lead encapsulation coating.

When the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida needed to make a hangar with lead dust in the floor safe for visitors, they came to Industrial Nanotech for our clear lead abatement coating that has been used by everyone from the American Red Cross to the U.S. Navy and Army Corps of Engineers.  Easy, safe, effective, and CLEAR.

Nansulate® LDX is a clear lead encapsulation coating to remediate lead paint or lead found in brick, concrete, or similar surfaces.  Use 2-coats applied at 4 mils per coat.  Covers 450 S.F. per gallon at 1-coat or 225 S.F. per gallon at 2-coats.   Product Page

Window Insulation
Easily paint skylights or windows to reduce glare and lower energy costs.

Cornell Quality Tools in Mogadore, Ohio was implementing energy efficiency upgrades to help reduce costs at their facility.  One of these was using Nansulate® over their factory windows to reduce heat loss and gain.  The payback from energy savings was only 4 months, and they also appreciated the frosted appearance the coating added for security.

Nansulate® Energy Protect can be sprayed over windows, skylights and frames easily.  It acts as a thermal barrier, while still allowing through approximately 92% of the visible light and reducing glare and UV.

TIP: When applying to glass: allow the first coat to dry for 24 hours before applying the 2nd and 3rd coat as usual.

As companies work on becoming sustainable, many individuals are also doing the same at home.  The Housekeeping Blog shares with us, through a recent blog called "25 Blogs Dedicated to Living off the Land", how to use your land as your main food source.

Housekeeping provides 5 blogs that provide information on:

 - "how to go about starting the adventure"

- how "hunting isn't the only way to have meat on your dinner table if you are living off land"

- how "probably one of the easiest ways to start saving money and living off the land is by growing your own garden"

- how to go "off the grid" - no longer paying a company for electricity but creating your own instead.

- how to live like the people in "Little House on the Prairie" did.  solar energy.png  fish.png

Instead of destroying our land and increasing our carbon footprint, these blogs show us how to work with our environment to survive.  Whether you are trying to live off your land completely or want to become a little more self-reliant, these blogs will definitely help!  Living off your land will also help you save money as  "grocery stores continue to raise food prices."

Today, manufacturing companies are working on ways to improve sustainability.  According to Autodesk Manufacturing White Paper, "sustainability is usually defined as 'meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.'"  (Please visit: images.autodesk.com for the full article.)

Improving sustainability is not only beneficial for future generations, but it will also help current companies save money and improve our carbon footprint on our environment as well.

Industrial Nanotech and its distributors are helping manufacturers decrease energy costs and create more efficient operating systems with Nansulate® coatings!

Omnigenus Energy, Industrial Nanotech's Mexico distributor, assisted a large manufacturing client with an issue they were having with heat transferring through a large sheet metal wall that divides the main mezzanine from an area that holds six industrial ovens.  The heat transfer was causing uncomfortable working conditions.

Nansulate® Translucent PT was applied at a 3-coat coverage to decrease the heat transfer.  Even before the coating was fully cured, measurements showed a reduction of wall surface temperature from 39.9C (103.8F) to 24.8C (76.6F)!  Further reduction is expected after the coating is completed cured.
